Firefox pushed another redesign and I opened it this morning and genuinely could not find my bookmarks 🙃 So I did what any normal person does and finished the browser I’ve been building on weekends for 3 months 😅 It’s fast, no telemetry, tabs stay where I put them. Calling it 2.0 because 1.0 crashed every time I opened a PDF 💀 Who wants a build?

I share the concern. Every tool we add is another thing to maintain and another thing that can fail at the wrong moment. Firefox works. A redesign is not a reason to abandon it.

Agreed. Nobody installs this on an operational machine until I’ve reviewed it. sunstalker, send me the source, not a binary.

The bigger problem is that a user agent nobody else on earth has is a fingerprint. Twelve people with a misspelled custom string show up in every log in the world. You might as well sign your name.

THAT’S WHAT THEY WANT YOU TO THINK. THE BIG BROWSERS ALL REPORT THE SAME UA STRINGS SO EVERYONE LOOKS THE SAME AND THEY CAN TRACK YOU BY EVERYTHING ELSE. BROWER IS THE ONLY HONEST BROWSER. ALSO IT IS SPELLED WRONG, GH0ST.

this reminds me of when sites had those little badges that said best viewed in a certain browser at 800x600. Different browser, different site basically. no one? ok
