Flashback:🦷 3M Toothbrush Botnet? LOL ok

yall see this bs?

media went wild sayin some DDoS hit used 3 million smart toothbrushes. like yeah bro, me and my Oral-Bs takin down NATO now :joy:

came from some exec at Fortinet—turns out it was all “hypothetical.” but of course the news ran it like it was gospel.

anyway… now i kinda wanna try it :smiling_face_with_horns:

who got firmware access on toothbrushes? i’ll take anything smart—fridge, washer, dishwasher, hairdryer—ALL OF IT. let’s make the dumbest botnet in history.

It’s dumb… but not impossible.

Some of these things run full-blown embedded Java stacks and ping back to cloud dashboards. You tell me that’s not exploitable and I’ll sell you a VPN that blocks ghosts.

We’ve seen DDoS from fridges, light bulbs, and fish tank thermometers. Toothbrushes aren’t a stretch.

What is stupid is thinking 3 million users actually update their firmware.

THIS IS JUST PHASE 1 OF THE ORAL GRID.

YOU LAUGH NOW. NEXT TIME YOUR TOOTHBRUSH STARTS TALKING TO YOUR TOASTER AND THEY OVERCLOCK THE MICROWAVE—DON’T COME CRYING TO ME.
